The first 18 hole competition of the season took place on Thursday 5th March
This was the Lady Captain V’s Ladies’ Secretary match with a shotgun start played in beautiful spring weather.
64 ladies took part in this fun, draw competition which was won by the Lady Captain’s team.

 PARK SPRING MEETING & Lady Captain's Drive in, Thursday 26th March
It was anything but a Spring morning when 64 ladies tee'd off:- Some gave up when the rain came but the afternoon players faired better with sun and only wind to contend with.
The Lady Captain managed to get her drive away but unfortunately topped her ball into the rough, not her usual style. Audrey Grove who didn't play, won the prize for the closest guess as to where the ball would land. 104 ladies sat down for dinner which was followed by presentation of prizes. The Lady Captain announced that her charity, had already topped £1000 for The Spinal Inuries Association, and the season had hardly started!
Sheila Bradford was the clear winner with nett 71

Clare Slack Best Gross with 88
Prizes for a number of other competitions held since January were also presented and the highlight of the evening was when lady Captain announced that this was the 1st time 3 generations of one family had ever been presented with prizes at the same meeting.
